Safety on Campus

º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Ranks 4th Nationally in Campus Safety

At º£½ÇÂÒÂ×, the well-being and safety of students, faculty, and staff, are our highest priority. Our ongoing commitment to student safety has earned º£½ÇÂÒÂ× a 4th national ranking.

The º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Police Department provides protection to the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Police Department staff work with community members to prevent crime, solve problems, and take proactive steps to make º£½ÇÂÒÂ× as safe as possible. The Department enforces state laws as well as university rules and regulations. All º£½ÇÂÒÂ× police officers attend municipal police academy training and have full police authority on campus and throughout the town of Bridgewater.

Campus Police community outreach
The º£½ÇÂÒÂ×PD Community Outreach Team conducts crime prevention, crime reduction, and safety awareness programs throughout the campus

º£½ÇÂÒÂ× complies with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), a federal law requiring most colleges and universities nationwide to publish statistics about certain criminal offenses committed on or near campus

In the event of a campus emergency, the º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Police will take steps to make º£½ÇÂÒÂ× as safe as possible. Officers have been trained in active shooter scenarios, crisis negotiation and other emergency scenarios.

Students, families, faculty and staff are encouraged to review the Emergency Procedures page to learn what to do to remain safe in an emergency situation on the º£½ÇÂÒÂ× campus.
