Practicum Education - Social Work

Practicum Education is an essential component of both the BSW and MSW programs at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×. Students are matched with partner agencies based on their individual learning goals, with placements available in a wide range of settings including mental health, child welfare, family services, education, aging, forensics, medical social work, behavioral health, and substance use and dependency services.

Each student participates in a weekly seminar led by a practicum instructor, who also serves as their practicum liaison, helping to integrate academic learning with practical experience. Practicum placements are closely supported by the School of Social Work's practicum education staff and faculty, in collaboration with agency-based supervisors. Through these experiences, students learn how to apply the across all areas of professional practice.

Please note that students are expected to be available to complete practicum hours during weekday daytime hours, typically Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., if determined by the agency's schedule and learning opportunities. Applications for practicum at a student's place of employment are welcome and may be submitted for consideration.
